Figurative Sculptures

The human figure is a recurring subject in Sergei Oganov’s work. This selection brings together his figurative sculptures in bronze and other materials, from mythological characters and heroic figures to more personal and psychological images.

For Oganov, the body is not simply an anatomical form. Gesture, posture, balance, tension, and stillness become ways of expressing inner states — vulnerability, solitude, determination, fear, freedom, or reflection.

Some works draw on ancient mythology, while others are rooted in contemporary experience or the artist’s own observations. Male figures, youthful figures, warriors, heroes, and solitary characters appear throughout the collection, but the focus remains on the individual rather than on an idealized type.

Together, these works show different approaches to contemporary figurative sculpture and to the expressive possibilities of the human body.
