When Lambs Become Lions is a bronze sculpture in which a child rides a gargoyle, holding a heart-shaped shield but no sword. The work is about growing up and finding inner strength. He is still small and weak, but in time a lamb can become a lion. His greatest weapon and protection will be a kind and noble heart.
