Perseus

This work reimagines the myth of Perseus, slayer of Medusa Gorgon. Here, the hero sails across the ancient sea astride Pegasus – an intentional anachronism by the artist. According to myth, Pegasus sprang from Medusa’s spilled blood; yet in this sculpture, Perseus already rides him, as if the deed is done. The monster is dead. The hero has a hero and a murderer. But his face is hidden behind his helmet. We must remember that every victory carries the aftertaste of moral compromise.
