Perseus
More
Perseus is a bronze sculpture inspired by the myth of Perseus, Medusa, and Pegasus. In the artist’s version, Perseus sails across the ancient sea on Pegasus, even though Pegasus only appeared after Medusa’s death. This deliberate break in chronology shows that the feat has already been accomplished: the monster is defeated, and Perseus has become both a hero and a killer. His face is hidden by a helmet. The work reminds us that victory can leave behind a feeling of moral defeat.
