David Gorodensky
More
Davyd Gorodensky was a 14th-century military commander associated with the history of Grodno and the fight against the Crusaders. Little historical information about him has survived, so his image is surrounded by legends. In this work, he appears as a weary warrior, as if doomed to an endless war. The sculpture became one of the prototypes for the Monument to Prince Davyd Gorodensky in Grodno, created by Sergei Oganov and installed in 2018.
